I love Butoh! So much fun to film!
Butoh is an avant-garde Japanese dance-theatre form that emerged in the late 1950s following World War II. Co-created by Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno, it acts as an anti-establishment counterculture movement that embraces the grotesque, absurdity, and extreme human emotions. Performers typically use slow, hyper-controlled movements and white body paint.
