Opera at the Bankhead Theater

I’ve really enjoyed filming opera over the years, and I wanted to share a bit of what goes into it. All of these performances were captured with a five-camera setup, operated entirely solo from the back of the theater. The audio is a blend of the house’s hanging microphones, a shotgun mic on my main camera, and a discreet mic placed at the front of the stage.

It’s a streamlined approach that delivers a clean, professional result without a large crew—something I’ve come to love about this kind of work.
